Environment-friendly products
Not only does Agfa Graphics use ecologically sound production processes, it also develops products that help its customers make their operation more environment-friendly.
Agfa Graphics' Thermofuse technology is a perfect example of how technology can be both innovative and environmentally friendly.
ThermoFuse has been conceived with ecology in mind. A printing plate made with ThermoFuseTM imaging does not require chemical processing. The plates have very thin single-layer coatings of aqueous solutions. Their thermoplastic (latex) particles are chemically inert.
The pH of the cleaning gum for the Azura printing plate is close to that of tap water. Gum contains no alkaline or corrosive agents or solvents.
ThermoFuse is also non-ablative. As with all thermal CtP systems, some unwanted ablation occurs, but it is at such a low level that there is no risk to the operator or the environment.
The immediate benefits of Thermofuse are that it eliminates variables and provides a non-ablative aluminium plate with excellent press behaviour. Read the entire white paper on Thermofuse.
